We have been working for more than 27 years with the automotive industry in Mexico carrying out vehicles inspections at the ports of Altamira, Veracruz and Lazaro Cardenas
During transportation of new vehicles from manufacturing plant to the dealers, when vehicles change possession at the different transit stages, they are inspected by most parties involved in the transport process namely manufacturers, inland carriers (truck and rail), terminals / yards, marine carriers, cargo insurers, receivers.
• An internal inspection of each and every vehicle regarding breakage and / or heft of items fitted to the vehicle as well as any type of considerable contamination on floors, upholstery or lining.
• An inspection regarding spillage and / or contamination by foreign agent or liquid, causing discoloration, paint, metal or rubber deterioration or any kind of damage anywhere outside the vehicle.
It is inspected each and every vehicle’s front, hood, both sides, roof, rear, trunk and all four wheel / tires for damage, deficiencies, missing items and / or spillage.
Passenger cabin is reviewed for considerable dirt on upholstery, carpets, door liners, etc. as well as for breakage and / or theft of items attached to the car.
Otherwise contents can be checked if there is a Packing List or a Vehicle Shipping Order (SVO) available or supplied by the client.
• Review that client’s instructions for driving, stowage and securing are observed.
• Observe and check if stevedores are causing damage, and if so, register same.
During the loading attendance the following duties are observed:

• Review stowage and general condition of cars before discharge. Should there be any damage visible or any ship’s problem it is reported in detail and discussed with ship’s Chief Officer.
• Review that client’s instructions for unlashing, driving, stowage and handling are observed.
• Observe and check if stevedores are causing damage, and if so, register same.

We have established the appropriate Rules of Conduct and Dress Code Policy for our surveyors to avoid damage to vehicles during inspection and to fulfill the requirements of the automotive industry.
Our surveyors are also trained to classify all vehicle’s damage and deficiencies noted according to their origin. Each and every damage which the surveyor observes on-site during the survey is noted and classified into the following categories:
• Pre-Load Damage.
• Other Than Transport Damage.
• Transport Damage.
• Other Than Marine Damage.
• Marine Damage.
• Stevedore Damage.
